It's The 5 Free Ideasicle X Subscription Challenge: Bad Ideas Lead To Great Ones

NOTE: THIS PROMOTION HAS ENDED.

We are giving away 5 free, one-year Ideasicle X subscriptions to 5 people on our email list. If you’re not on our list and want a shot, it’s not too late. Just click here first, sign up, and then come back and take on our challenge. Only those we can confirm are on our email list will be eligible for a free subscription, which by the way is a $1,089 value!

Now, Ideasicle X is all about ideas, right? Lots of ideas and really great ideas. Add the simple truth that on our platform bad ideas often lead to great ones. So we thought we’d highlight that fact with what we’re calling “The Bad Ideas Lead To Great Ones Challenge.”

The Bad Idea Challenge

For a chance to win a free one-year subscription, all you have to do is go out into the world or the web and find evidence of the worst marketing or advertising ideas (pictures, screen grabs, anything) and post them below in the comments. You can post one bad idea or post a bunch to increase your chances. The best/worst ideas, as deemed by our panel of Ideasicle Expert judges, will win a free year subscription. See? Bad ideas will literally lead to great ones!

Here are some really bad examples. I mean, good examples of bad ideas. Whatever:

Bad idea for a media placement:

Bad idea for fonts:

Bad idea for endorsement (includes 2 Shaq stickers, what?):

You get the idea. Er, the BAD idea.

Rules:

  • All bad ideas must be posted in the comments section of THIS BLOG POST. See below, we use Disqus.

  • Only entries from people on our email list can win. All can contribute, however. Sign up for our email list here.

  • Keep it clean - swear words are ok (see font example above), but anything illegal, pornographic, or similar will be immediately deleted.

  • Extra points for pictures of bad ideas you actually take in situ. Let us know exactly where the picture was taken. Again just for extra points. But you can Google bad ideas too and post those.

  • Describe why you think it’s a bad idea, even though it may be obvious in the picture. Just to be sure.

  • Bad ideas must be real and must have actually run in public somewhere. Can be for big brands or mom-n-pop businesses. Just no Photoshop fakes, please.

  • Judges will look for degrees of badness, humor factor, and how public and embarrassing to the brand the bad idea appeared to be.

  • Note: a free subscription is just that, if you choose to hire outside freelancers on your jobs, you’ll still have to pay them.

  • All entries must be posted by Monday, April 4th, at midnight EST. Winners will be announced later in the week.

  • QUESTION: send email to me at willb@ideasilex.com.

Have at it. It’s time to bring on the bad!
